Introduction to CIIT Abbottabad
It has been a long success story for EMCOT since 2004. EMCOT 2011 was a galaxy of undergrad
students. CIIT Abbottabad, nesting in the peaceful and scenic valley of Abbottabad, is a modern and dynamic center of education offering high quality teaching, world class research and extensive community services. Since its inception, CIIT has made exponential progress in the arena of education, research and takes particular pride in applied research. Research in fields of Environmental Science, Electrical Engineering, Development Studies, Computer Science, Pharmacy, Management Sciences, Chemistry and Mathematics was recognized at
national level when CIIT was placed 6th in ranking of research and third in Research Citation by the Higher Education Commission (HEC:2007). CIIT Engineering Programmes were placed 8th amongst the Engineering Universities/Institutions of Pakistan.Up till 2011, over 500 research papers have been published in HEC recognized journals, many of them in high impact factor Journals, 2 International Patents have been registered, 24 Research Projects and 2 International
Collaborations are underway.
EMCOT 2012
EMCOT 2012 is one of the research innovations to nourish potential engineers in the field of Electrical Systems, Micro-Controllers and Telecommunications. This year, Electrical Department COMSATS Abbottabad campus has organized 9th event of EMCOT on May 07-18, 2012. Efforts have been made to extend the projects in education sector to industrial production level.

BOARDING AND LODGING
Free boarding/lodging will be provided to all confirmed participants coming from different parts of
Pakistan. Maximum of two participants per project can be entertained. The participants are required to indicate in the registration form whether they would require boarding/lodging.
ABBOTTABAD
The beautiful city of Abbottabad is located on the Karakoram Highway to China at a distance of 120 Km from Islamabad and about 200 Km from Peshawar. It has a natural beauty endowed by its location amid lush green valleys and surrounded by high mountain.
It is situated at an altitude of 1,225 m(4002 ft) above sea level and surrounded by refreshing green hills of Sarban. It has become one of the most sought after summer resorts of Pakistan.
